GYZE INTERVIEW

G Y Z E

2015

Group Questions:

Recently, you were part of the AAD in Essen, Germany, where you gave an awesome performance! What do you think about German fans and about the fans in Europe in general?

Ryoji: It was awesome!

I'm glad our first time was in Germany. I guess we as Japanese people feel like

Germany is the home of metal. So being able to play there is really something

wonderful. On top of that the audience response was great!

Next we wanna tour other cities in Germany, as well as, other countries.

Do you guys spend a lot of time together when you have freetime? What are you doing together when not making music and performing?

Ryoji: When we were in Germany we all went to Köln Cathedral and the home of

Beethoven. And we got to eat authentic German food which was really good.

We also did some sightseeing with a friend from Dusseldorf and a calligrapher

that performed at the event. We've all got some really great memories of the

trip! Make sure to check out our pictures on FACEBOOK!

Outside of music we mostly enjoy our lives. I really enjoy fishing and often go

fishing at the lakes and rivers around Hokkaido.

The reaction to your performance was beyond good and we know there are a lot of fans who want to see you back in Germany again. Are there plans on coming back and when would that be?

Ryoji: Actually, we’ve been talking about how we really want to do a Europe tour

in 2016. It seems like it would be a really interesting chance. We'll definitely be

visiting. So introduce all your friends to GYZE’s music! You can watch music

videos and live footage on YOUTUBE, so please share it with your friends. It is a

really convenient time to be alive for music lovers. I hope you’ll all come see us

when we come to Europe and pick up our albums.

What are your general hobbies besides making music? Anything special you like to do for fun in your free time?

Ryoji: I said it before, but I’m really into fishing. More specifically I love going trout

fishing. I can really relax when I’m out in nature fishing. Also I like to read.

Individual Questions:

To Ryoji: We couldn't help but notice your affection for Germany, why do you like it so much? Is there anything special about it for you?

As I said before Germany reminds me of Hokkaido. And of course I grew up l

istening to Helloween!

Also, this is kinda funny. There's actually a bridge in my neighborhood named

Munich bridge! It was on my way to Middle School! (Laughs)

There' even a German restaurant up near the station named ESSEN!

But mostly I just like foreign countries even though I had my wallet stolen in

Milan. (Laughs)

To Shuji: What is the meaning of the tattoo on your upper arm, it's something that everybody notices when watching you playing the drums - when did you get it?

The tattoo on my arm is a reminder to keep living. It reminds me to do

important things like being thankful.

They’re actually tattoos that I got at different times. The first one was when I

was 18 and then 19 or 20.

To Aruta: You've been part of the band for some time now, is there anything you're most proud of? Something you're proud to have reached in your life and more to come?

I definitely have pride in GYZE. It is a privilege to be able to get on stage and

tour with these two brothers that I respect. No one else in the world has the

right except me. I'd say that’s a privilege.

Since I joined the band it's kind of passed like that, but I feel that as the years

pile up the things I'm proud of will change and if I have more things to be proud

of in the future I'll be happy.

Last question: Can you send a message to german fans?

Ryoji: Thank you for the very special time last month!

We will be coming more consistently in the future. Ah, I wanna play Wacken

Open Air!

Our first live in Europe was really a special day!!

Many thanks to GYZE for the interview, we also hope to see you soon in Germany again!
